Chef Romic Culinary Philosophy

As a Chef, originating from the small island Grenada. Entering the international culinary arena and learning the various cuisines was always my set goal. After growing up in that particular region of the world eating and experiencing Caribbean culture of food, I was left to wonder. What does the rest of the world has to offer? Which can bring diversity to my knowledge as a young and aspiring Chef. I concluded to myself, to achieve that goal an get my answer, I had to work hard and ride on the opportunities that came my way, to getting to the international platform and  getting that first hand experience. Through my perseverance I landed in Nova Scotia, Canada. Which started my international journey.

Where my Dream Began

At a young age, I was certain I wanted to become a medical Doctor. It was ironic there after, as I got older entering pre-teens I realize,  I couldn't GUT the sight of blood and intense injuries. This made me rethink my Career path, it made me dig in dept on what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and if I will truly enjoy it. In my uncertainty I drew near to my mother's side,  tasting her food and watching her in kitchen, as she would cook hot Caribbean meals religiously three times every day.


As often as I can, I made it my duty to assist her. This developed my love for food, as I got feed back from my family day after day. I then made  it known to my mom that one day I want to cook better than you and I have chosen to become a chef, and I intend go the extra mile and become a professional of the art.
